My office recently moved to the Lake Merritt area and I had to order lunch for 25 people. Round Table made me look like a superstar! The order was perfect (5 XL pizzas and a party size Caesar salad) and we even had leftovers. Everyone was happy and satisfied. Pizza was great but our rental car window was busted out and all our luggage/clothes was stolen in the 30/45 minutes we were in there eating. Car was even in site from restaurant window and it was a Sunday afternoon. Pretty much ruined our vacation. Didn’t get a chance to stop any where to get anything to eat or or drink. So I looked for pizza near me. Discovered Mountain Mike’s. Thought it was a little expensive, bit it’s California. So everything is expensive. Anyway, I ordered and got a great pizza and BBQ wings. Wings were not small. Pizza had great toppings on. I got got a meat lovers pizza. Huge chunks of sausage, ham and lots of pepperoni on it. I’m used to seeing scattered crumbs of sausage. Not chunks. It was well worth the price. Didn’t hold back one the quality of the food. Very impressed.

Delightful little crew. There is a young black women speedy with the meals like a finessed race car teammate. And a brown gentleman who has great hospitality. The other crew have great smiles. They all deserve tip only if you can financially afford it. Insh’Allah the inflation and the prices in the Town go down.
Now it says halal guys, and the two gentleman do a phenomenal job. But you gotta give it up to the ladies. I feel like this is a halal woman all of a sudden.
Now the food is great. I had the new savory herb beef gyro.At first you think you dry but there’s more to it. The flavor is slightly enhance if you look for that taste. It goes well with the creamy white sauce. Some flavors overpower each other so you don’t want too much meaty juices.
I love the hot sauce, but be warned they do warn you it is quite hot. The vegetables have a nice bit of water meshing with the savory meat. You need the white sauce and tahini (be warned of sesame allergy).
I do like the kalamata olives and onions.
Anyways it was great and mouth watering. Halal guys turned to halal brown skin girls. Yes Queen.

I did the order online after quite a while the tracking said there is a problem! I called and there was NO record of my order and, even though their site offered delivery, THEY DO NOT DELIVER!!! They must’ve not cooked it well because minutes later it had my stomach hurting and now I’m getting food poisoning.By Atteb (2 weeks ago)I order a gyro they made a combo when I pointed out it was wrong they made me a gyro but it had very little meat in it!I have been here a few times now and this time I felt I had been given much less meat because I point out the mistake they made.
I won’t be coming here again, sad but not the business of being treat that way and I haven’t got the energy to make a scene.

Very good pizza. Had a ton of toppings, which was nice as a lot of times pizza places skimp on the toppings. Flavours were very good and the pizza was cooked perfectly. But the Ranch was the best part. I love good ranch with my pizza. And this one really hit the spot! They have a lot of options for you to try out. It’s not a dine in place, only for pick ups and delivery. A lot of vegetarian options as well. It came with old tasting beef and not bacon. The base was not a tomato sauce but some sort of Chile sauce that made the pizza very wet and soggy. I’ve known about having celiac disease for over 13 years and although I know The Star on Grand doesn’t give any guarantee for allergies, I was willing to risk it after so many terrible gluten free pizzas over the years. I’m happy to announce that after moving 31 times over 3 countries, this is the best I’ve ever had!! Perfectly chewy and just the right texture. (Highly recommend the Mediterranean!!)
OMG there was literally NOTHING I didn’t enjoy there from our waiter, to our gem caesar salad, our custom deep dish pizza, my wine & his whiskey drink, EVERYTHING was soooooooooo delicious ? definitely found our new pizza place ??
A crust to behold, made with cornmeal, becomes crispy and may well be the finest pizza crust I’ve encountered. Just look at the picture. The tomatoes are as whole as they can be and still be considered sauce and the seasoning is perfect. The arugula salad was also a real treat, fresh and delightful.
Stopped by for a Friday lunch. Their $11 personal pan lunch special is a good deal. The cornmeal crust was excellent. The Little Star is a good option for vegetarians. The Paper Airplane is a good bourbon based drink.
Had a sandwich with a salad for lunch and it was amazing. Great staff, very friendly. Definitely recommend this place.
